The Elate Carbon shares most of its high-end componentry with its Pro siblings, yet takes a slightly more sensible approach. These 2-way and 3-way systems were designed for those who want the ultimate performance but are looking for a discreet tweeter. The compact design of the MT450 tweeter allows users the option to place the speaker in most factory locations, or into space-limited areas using the supplied mounts. It may be small in size, but the MT450’s Acuflex coated silk dome, open cavity design, and dual neodymium magnet motor give it amazing detail and silky-smooth, flat frequency response.

 All Elate Carbon 3-way systems receive the all-new MM3 3.5″ cone midrange. This small midrange uses the best of Morel’s technology, including an EVC motor, high power 2.1” diameter voice coil, and highly damped carbon-fiber/Rohacell cone, allowing it to play lower in frequency and with greater control than most 4.5” speakers. It also handles some serious power. These attributes drastically improve system performance while enabling them to fit in most factory midrange locations.

 The Elate Carbon would not be complete without exercising its power. Whether using a 5.25”, 6.5”, or 9-inch system, each of the woofers feature Klipple optimized EVC motors with large 3-inch diameter voice coils and carbon fiber/Rohacell sandwich cones for ultra-low distortion and high power handling levels. 
 
HANDCRAFTED ACUFLEX SOFT DOME - A specially engineered damping compound applied to the soft domes of specific Morel tweeters and midranges. The combination of these materials creates a diaphragm that exhibits controlled canceling break-up (accurate–flexing), meaning each break-up mode is counteracted by another in the opposite direction. This cancellation of break-up modes leaves nothing but the pure, natural sound Morel tweeters and midrange are famous for.
 
EVC MOTOR - Morel speakers with EVC™ technology utilize voice coils that are up to three times larger than those used in conventional loudspeakers. The EVC™ design moves the magnetic drive system within the voice coil, eliminating stray magnetic flux by effectively directing all the magnetic energy to the voice coil. The result is an ultra-efficient and powerful design, that is highly compact with efficient heat dissipation and reduced cone breakup for lower distortion.
 
C.A.R FILTER - In most automotive applications, speakers are installed in a virtual free-air environment, such as a door, which provides minimal acoustic loading. The C.A.R. Filter™ improves the acoustic loading by controlling airflow within the driver, mimicking the effects of a cabinet while improving power handling by 30%. This provides greater control over the cone movement for improved bass dynamics.
 
TITANIUM VOICE COIL FORMER - The bobbin material has an influence on the acoustical parameters of the driver, its power handling and the reproduced sound quality. By using a titanium bobbin, Morel intended to raise the Mechanical Factor (QMS) in order to enable a wider selection of enclosure types and sizes. As for the sound quality, one is able to discern a distinctively “crisper” sound when compared to an equivalent driver with an aluminum bobbin. The rigid characteristic of titanium, along with its other advantages produces a driver that is tonally balanced and accurate, with exceptionally fast transient response.
